CRP’s WRAS-compliant paste extruded PTFE & PFA (HiPerFlon®) lined pipes are widely used throughout the water industry. Their unique properties make them ideal for highly corrosive and demanding applications, while also meeting the stringent requirements for high purity processes.

Why PTFE/PFA Lined Pipes?

Paste extruded PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) and PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy) offer exceptional chemical resistance, thermal stability, and hygiene compliance. These characteristics make them indispensable in critical water treatment operations.

Key Applications in the Water Industry

Chemical Dosing Systems

Chemical dosing is essential for maintaining water quality-whether adjusting pH, removing harmful impurities, or treating wastewater. CRP’s HiPerFlon® lined systems are designed to handle aggressive chemicals in demanding environments, extending equipment life and improving operational safety.

High Purity Water Processes

High purity water processes involve removing impurities using advanced techniques to produce water with minimal contaminants. HiPerFlon® PTFE/PFA linings ensure no contamination, maintaining the integrity of ultra-pure water systems.

High-Temperature Applications

These lining materials can withstand elevated temperatures, making them suitable for thermal water treatment processes where durability and performance are critical.

Hygiene and Compliance

HiPerFlon® PTFE/PFA linings meet FDA approval, ensuring safe contact with potable water and food-grade processes. This compliance is vital for sectors where hygiene standards cannot be compromised.

Supporting AMP 8 Investments

With AMP 8 driving investment across the UK water sector, CRP has partnered with contractors on vital projects- enhancing chemical dosing systems, ensuring purity in high-specification applications, and delivering solutions that improve operational efficiency.

Case study

A major desalination plant in the southeast, originally built in 2010, found continual leaks from there dual contained pipework that carried chemicals (NaCIO, NaOH, H2SO4) from the dosing cabinets into reverse osmosis system. Designed to take in brackish water from the Thames Estuary, not only was it an aggressive application the conditions were also demanding, with pressure surges taking place up to 19bar. The internal piped failed. CRP had the solution with initial visits from our area sales manager; the issue was quickly identified as insufficient infrastructure. With a full HiPerFlon® PTFE/PFA lined system sold including LP&F, lined valves, bellows, flexible hoses and safety shields all designed to cope under these conditions. With these items now being put on this desalination plants spec for chemical dosing, as their corrosion resistance and durability make them ideal for this application.
