About Corrosion Resistant Products Ltd (CRP)

CRP is a trusted manufacturer and distributor of high-performance PTFE and PFA-lined piping, valves, and ancillaries. These fluoropolymer-lined solutions are designed for corrosion-resistant and high-purity applications across demanding industries.

The Challenge

CRP partnered with Workprove to create a more structured approach to employee development through digital skills matrices, performance appraisals, and integrated training management. The project, led by Richard Payne, Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager, and Rosie Mulligan, Sustainability Engineer, was designed to improve visibility of workforce capability, strengthen training oversight, and support compliance and wider corporate responsibility goals.

During our health and safety systems approval employees gained vital competencies through IOSH certified Working, Managing and Leading Safely Courses in addition to a series of operational training totalling over 800hrs of staff training. Managing this increase in training, highlighted the challenges in tracking scattered and sometimes expired training records, scheduling training events, and using outdated manual excel training and skills matrices.

In addition, CRP needed a clearer and more consistent way to track employee skills and development needs across departments. The business also wanted a standardised appraisal process that would support better record-keeping, align training with operational requirements, and make skills gaps easier to identify.

To address these challenges, CRP implemented Workprove to centralise and streamline workforce development processes.

The Solution

Workprove provides software that helps organisations manage training compliance, close skills gaps, and maintain real-time visibility across the workforce. By automating compliance processes and reducing manual administration, the platform helps businesses stay organised and prepared for audits.

“Workprove has provided Corrosion Resistant Products Ltd with excellent training compliance software that meets our operational and compliance requirements in a format that is accessible and easy to configure.

They also developed an additional appraisal and PDR module to our specification, completing the work in full and on time. This gave us an all-in-one solution for skills matrices, training records, and staff development.

Communication and issue resolution throughout the development process were prompt and accurate, making Workprove a very easy company to do business with.”

Richard Payne, Quality Manager

Key Features Implemented

  • Skills matrix and real-time visibility of employee training records
  • Identification of training requirements and development opportunities linked directly to skills gaps
  • Structured appraisals with clear documentation of performance discussions, outcomes, and personal development objectives
  • Central record of completed training and certifications
  • Dashboarding and monitoring of training hours completed
  • Notification of expiring training certificates
  • Integrated training management, including toolbox talk registration and tracking for health and safety

The system was embedded into CRP’s existing management practices through role-based skills matrices, annual appraisals, and manager training. Once in place, Workprove became part of regular review cycles, helping to ensure that development and compliance activities were managed consistently.

Results and Benefits

Following implementation, CRP introduced a more consistent and structured approach to appraisals, improved accountability for employee development, and strengthened centralised record-keeping for audits and internal reviews. Auditors also commented positively on how well the system had been integrated into existing processes.

Key Areas of Impact

Health and Safety

Health and safety is a key priority for CRP and improving visibility and compliance across training was a major driver behind the implementation of Workprove. Toolbox talks are now easier to track, health and safety training is simpler to monitor, and the streamlined sign-in process helps ensure employees remain up to date.

Corporate Social Responsibility

CRP recognises that investing in people is essential to maintaining the quality of its products and services. Workprove helps the business identify skills gaps, target training more effectively, and support ongoing employee development, reinforcing CRP’s broader corporate social responsibility goals.

Ongoing Use

Workprove is now used as part of CRP’s day-to-day management processes, supporting:

  • Continuous monitoring and updating of skills matrices
  • Performance reviews and development planning
  • Ongoing training tracking and compliance management
  • Corrective action implementation and sign off for Quality and Health and Safety issues – updated processes and method statements are trained out and signed off using the integral Toolbox Talk module.

CRP is committed to investing in employee training and development, recognising that a highly skilled workforce delivers higher-quality results. Quality starts with quality people.
