Spectacle Blinds

Spectacle blinds are a more permanent form of blanking spade, they are built into the pipeline and can provide a relatively quick and effective positive pipe line shut off to allow piping maintenance, cleaning in place etc. They are available in two distinct designs, the sliding spectacle blind and the figure 8 type that is rotated around a central pivot bolt. CRP supply both types, the sliding spectacle blinds are manufactured from solid PTFE and the figure 8 type from stainless steel lined in PFA or PTFE depending on size. In their open state they allow unhindered flow through the pipeline, when slid / rotated into their closed position they very effectively seal the pipeline.
